In 1982, Paul Staudt and Carl Avey started Control Tech Supply. The controls industry was in its infancy, so buying product and reselling was a novel idea. Prompt customer service and technical support was the basis of the company’s philosophy at the beginning and remains the number 1 propriety today. Paul has a BS in business management from Missouri State University, Springfield, MO. Paul is married to Connie, VP of Business Operations, and together they have four adult children and nine grandchildren. CTS has been in the same location for more than 35 years, our 7,000 sq ft. facility provides adequate space for products, training, and growth in the future. In 1998, Paul bought out Carl’s interest in the company. His primary responsibilities include sales/marketing and company growth.
VP Business Operations
Connie has been with Control Tech Supply for 20+ years. As VP of Business Operations, her duties include overseeing all accounting activities, marketing and customer service. She has a Master of Business Administration and a BS in Business Administration/Sociology, both from Texas Woman’s University. She enjoys family time, her grandchildren, and is a year round sports fan–spending much of her time golfing or attending OU Sooner football games, Mavericks, and Rangers games. BOOMER SOONER!!
Director of Technical Support
Raised in Mesquite, Texas, Sonny joined Control Tech Supply in 1998 to become the Technical Support and Training Team Leader. Having both hands-on field experience and project management experience in automation/controls and industrial HVAC, his skills range from estimating and configuring automation systems, managing installations, to ensuring client relationships. Sonny holds a degree in Information Technology, a Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contracting License, InetSupervisor Certification, as well as and a NiagaraAX Certification. His responsibilities consist of supervising all technical support activities, managing all customers training curriculum, and maintaining an exemplary level of customer service and support. Sonny now enjoys a semi-retirement lifestyle while still working at Control Tech on a part-time basis - handling training classes, grandfathered projects and IT. Sonny’s interests and hobbies are centered in flying both full scale and radio controlled aircraft. He earned his private pilot’s license in 1991 and now has accrued over 2000 hours flight time. His greatest passion is flying scaled down radio controlled WWII fighter model aircraft.
Abel Ramirez II
Technical Support Specialist
Abel comes to Control Tech with more than 20 years’ experience in the building automation industry. His skills include engineering and design, programming, graphics and user interfaces and project management with several control lines (Distech, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Delta Controls, Automated Logic, Andover and Circon). He has a passion for building automation and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others – check out some of his videos on YouTube, The Controls Freak.
As our Accounting Specialist, Amber handles all Accounts Receivable invoicing, Accounts Payable invoicing, inventory control and logistics. She has a background in distribution and accounts receivable/accounts payable. Amber enjoys reading, exercising, family time, and 16 year old daughter Jade. She has an Associate's Degree in Accounting.
Marketing / Sales Coordinator
As Control Tech’s Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Paige supports the development and execution of marketing plans and strategies. She manages the content of our company website and social media, and writes email marketing campaigns (e-newsletter). Paige also assists with customer service and inside sales. Paige is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Marketing and Merchandising. Her free time is spent with her Aggie husband Ross and their two children Roman and Hattie.
